Fishing
Historically, the main draw for fly-fishing in Dullstroom, South Africa, has been the Dullstroom Dams. The diversity of settings within and around the dam adds to the experience’s beauty, making it one of the better fly-fishing spots in Mpumalanga. These consist of stony cliffs, deep open waterways, waters that deepen gradually or rapidly, and clear and reeded embankments. This is also the reason why competitions and trials at the regional, national, and international levels are frequently held here.
Permits are available at Oak Lane Estate’s guard house and reception.
The upper dam is ideal for non-powered vessels, bank fishing, wading, and float-tubing.
