Phabeni Gate

Kruger National Park
The best entrance into Skukuza from Gauteng is through Phabeni Gate in Kruger National Park. In order to make it simpler for visitors traveling via Hazeyview from Johannesburg or Pretoria to enter the Park, Phabeni Gate was built in 2002.
The three indigenously themed rondavels (huts) at the gate are an interesting contrast to the typical thatch and brick aesthetic of most structures in the Park. Its African architectural style captures the atmosphere of new South Africa.Phabeni, a Swazi chief in the past, gave the stream his own name. You must cross this stream shortly after approaching Phabeni gate. In the area right around Phabeni, you can frequently see a lot of game.Ruins of Albisini and Joaos remains are found 100 meters from the entrance.
