Long Tom Pass
On a clear day, this breathtaking pass, which is situated on the R37 between Lydenburg (Mashishing) and Sabie, offers some of the most breathtaking views of the escarpment in the Kruger Lowveld.
The pass, which is somewhat longer than 26 kilometres, is distinguished by lush flora with pine and eucalyptus trees extending for miles in all directions. There are unquestionably amazing views along with 66 turns, bends, and curves. The Long Tom Cannon, of which a replica can be viewed at Devil’s Knuckles, 22 km from Sabie and 34 km from Lydenburg/Mashishing, is the inspiration for the name of the pass.
