Let the Uitsoek Hiking Trail push you to your limitWith three trail options; the Bakkrans Day Route and the Beestekraalspruit Day Route which are both 11km in length and start and end at the Uitsoek Hut. The third option is the overnight backpack route, known as Houtbosloop. 

This trail is physically challenging and is best undertaken by seasoned hikers. Covering a distance of 28km, the trail leads from the foothills to the plateau, crossing several streams. Hikers tread through indigenous forest, bushveld and astounding plantae. Accommodation on the first night is at the Uitsoek Hut- basic dormitory style bunk beds, electricity, hot water, braai facilities, firewood, toilets and no cookware. The second night is spent at the Lisbon Hut which is even more rustic- only cold river water, no electricity, firewood, bunk beds, toilet and no cookware, crockery and cutlery. 

Although an arduous hike, the vibrant vegetation and panoramic scenery make it a trail worth adding to your bucket list.
