This trail can be found after turning onto the Sabie/Sudwala turnoff (R539) from the N4. The road becomes a dirt and after 10 km turn right at the Uitsoek hut sign. Keeping on this road will lead you to the plantations. The trail starts and ends at the Uitsoek hut. This 11km moderately difficult trail can be undertaken by anyone of any age with some level of fitness. A hiking permit is required. The first half of this route goes through plantation above the Houtbosloop and through indigenous scrub forest in the gorges. The route joins the 2- day circle route at the refreshing Bakkrans waterfall.
