Paul Kruger Gate

Kruger National Park
One of only three gates into the west area of southern Kruger National Park, Paul Kruger Gate is thought to be the shortest method to get to Skukuza. Additionally, Lower Sabie is easily accessible. The gate consequently experiences a substantial quantity of traffic.
At the gate, a substantial granite block is resting on a statue of Paul Krugers head. Despite the contentious removal of the statue in late 2003 after a book on the park by Jane Curruthers proved that the former president of the Transvaal republic had no involvement in creating the reserve, the figure has remained in place as the parks name suggests.
